The process of making art has proven to be cathartic, healing and life enhancing… I was totally immersed in the Course and found it life changing. Art Therapy is powerful and I had so much fun!” (Lesley, CT)

This 5-day intensive course offers you an opportunity to gain a deeper working understanding of the international Art Therapy training both with individuals and various client groups.

Target Audience:
The course is targeted at ALL ADULTS including professionals, mental health practitioners, therapists, social workers, OT’s, educators, artists, parents and students and all adults interested in the field of Art Therapy, self-growth and creativity

What do I gain from the course?
The course provides an invaluable opportunity for enhancing creative and personal insight, exploration and growth, self-reflection as well as learning through group interaction.

The skills and experiences gained by participants on the course can be adapted to and incorporated in many professional work spheres such as various therapeutic interventions, teaching art, the running of groups with children or adults, corporate facilitation, and coaching to name but a few.

NO art skill is necessary in order to benefit from the course. Everyone has the ability to be creative through art! The importance  in Art Therapy is on the creative PROCESS and not only the aesthetic product. There are also no judgments made on the artwork.

“Art Therapy equipped me for the next portion of my journey in life, business, marriage and parenthood.” (Liesel)

Course info:
The Art Therapy 5-day course is comprised of the following modules daily:

1: Art Therapy theory and Psychodynamic literature
2: Clinical examples of Art Therapy work with children and adults with a range of conditions including anxiety, depression, stress, ADHD, Autism, psychosis, refugees, trauma, and more
3: Experiential art making and Journaling daily

Art Therapy in groups is a highly effective, powerful and dynamic process. Working within a group format encourages the learning of new and inspiring creative uses of various mediums as a means of expression. Interaction with other group members provides an opportunity for sharing of feedback and insights around the image making process thereby enhancing the learning experience.

Although the facilitating trained Art Therapist, Samantha Davis follows a Psychodynamic approach, an eclectic tool kit is used when appropriate and includes a combination of Art Therapy interventions, Gestalt techniques, Journey Therapy, integral coaching, archetypes, numerology, mindfulness and laughter yoga types of processing and interventions. In summary, the course is extremely beneficial for both personal and professional growth.

Please note that the course does not enable you to practice as an Art Therapist as Art Therapy is a 2-year full-time Masters training internationally. For more info on international training and registration please see FAQ.
