Call for expression of interest for inclusion in the national database
to provide the following services to the public health sector:(a)  Mental Health Services(b)  Forensic Mental Health ServicesThe National
Department of Health is developing a database of private health
professionals who are prepared to provide mental health and forensic
mental health services to the public health sector.The aim of this
initiative is to:
a. Enhance treatment of mental illness in primary health care facilities in theprioritised districts;b. Reduce the backlog of forensic psychiatric evaluations referred by the Courts; andc. Initiate or review treatment of State psychiatric patients waiting for hospital admission in Correctional centres.Centres:1. Mental health services are to be provided in the prioritised primary health facilities in the following districts:2. an expert witness in Court).
Clinical Psychologists with experience in conducting forensic psychiatric evaluations, compilation of psychiatric reports and being an expert witness in Court.Requirements: Appropriate qualification and registration with the Health Professions Council with a proof of current registration. A minimum of 2-3 year’s appropriate experience in the professional category after registration with the Statutory Council. A valid driver’s licence, willingness to travel and work afterhours or overtime.Competencies: Ability to work in integrated multi-disciplinary teams across platforms. Leadership, administrative, communication and mentoring skills. Good problem-solving skills. Computer literacy.Please Note: Health professionals employed in the public sector full time are not eligible for inclusion in this data
base.
