Primary and Advanced Practicum in Rational Emotive & Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy
December 11, 2019 Courses
28 FEBRUARY – 1 MARCH 2020 IN CAPE TOWN
The Center for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy in association with the Albert Ellis Institute is pleased to announce the dates for the following Primary and Advanced Practicums in Rational Emotive and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
These intensive and highly experiential three day practicums will again be presented in Cape Town from the 28th February to 1st March 2020.
The Practicums will be hosted at the Cape Milner Hotel, Tamboerskloof, Cape Town. Both the Primary and Advanced Practicums replicate the same practicums as presented by the Albert Ellis Institute in New York City, thus bringing world class professional training in CBT and REBT at a fraction of the cost. Click here to view an estimated cost outline for attending the same practicums in NYC. The training of cognitive therapists requires a combination of didactic instruction and experiential learning or supervised practice. These practicums therefore involve three half-day seminars on CBT and REBT theory aimed at assessment, case conceptualization and treatment of a variety of emotional and behavioural problems. The second half of the day will entail small group supervision where delegates will be exposed to learning how to assess for, conceptualize and intervene with dysfunctional thinking underlying emotional and behavioural problems. Delegates will receive official Albert Ellis Institute certificates that will enable admission to the Advanced and Associate Fellow Practicums respectively. The Primary and Advanced Practicums are accredited by the American Psychological Association for 24 and 28 CE credits respectively.
